American Foundation for Children with AIDS saves the lives of children suffering from the AIDS pandemic in Sub-Saharan Africa. Funds are needed to provide anti-retroviral medication as well as the medicine necessary to cure children suffering from opportunistic infections such as tuberculosis, malaria and pneumonia. Funds are also needed to equip rural hospitals with such vital items as gurneys, needles, IVs, splints, X-ray machines, examination tables, etc. AFCA also provides livestock, seeds, training, school supplies and fees, and food to children affected and/or infected by AIDS. Without funding innocent children will continue to die needlessly.

Be An Elf's mission is to make underprivileged children smile on Christmas morning, and to inspire the public with the real spirit of the holidays. Every December we recruit volunteers for the United States Post Office Operation Santa program, which distributes real letters to Santa written by needy kids. The letters often ask Santa only for food, warm blankets, new shoes for an older brother, or other basic necessities. How can we say no to such heartfelt requests? And what needy child does not deserve the joy of opening a new toy or game on Christmas morning? Funds are needed to advertise and help us further our mission, raise public awareness, expand our outreach and help us build an army of volunteer elves.

Chai Lifeline is a not-for-profit organization. Since 1987, Chai Lifeline's mission has been to restore the light of childhood to children whose innocence ended when life-threatening or lifelong illness was diagnosed. Through programs that address the emotional, social, and financial needs of seriously ill children, their families, and communities, Chai Lifeline restores normalcy to family life, and better enables families to withstand the crises and challenges of serious pediatric illness. Funds are needed to operate Camp Simcha/Camp Simcha Special, a medically supervised overnight camp for children battling cancer, hematologic illnesses and debilitating chronic conditions. Funds will also enable Chai Lifeline to provide sick children with art projects, tutoring, books, toys, trips, classroom teleconferencing links and to grant their special wishes. As well as to provide parents and siblings with respite, retreats and support groups and help alleviate the financial burden of non-medical expenses that result from children's illness.

Eitan's Hope for Children transforms the spirits of children and young adults with chronic and life-threatening illness. Any area they were immersed in before their world changed with a diagnosis, is researched and included inside our "Basketful of Smiles" project so we can help build a future set with goals and fulfillment. Each basket is a magnet for healing. It softens blows of newly diagnosed, distracts young ones from fears and painful procedures, motivates teens to fight harder and young adults to continue setting goals and reestablish their identities. Funds are needed to buy personalized items such as music, architecture, nutrition, photography or any others that are meaningful to each and every child or young adult.

The Sierra House Transitional Program is a structured two-year program for New Jersey homeless young women and young mothers, between the ages of 18 and 25, who are victims of abuse, neglect or aging out of the foster care system. Participants are economically disadvantaged and face barriers to employment, education, income, and health. We help these young women achieve their dream to improve themselves, make a transition, break the cycle of homelessness and provide a positive example to their children. We teach them a basic set of life skills, including management of daily activities, goal setting, how to interact with prospective employers, and financial skills. Funds are needed to support the Sierra House Transitional Program that helps homeless young women transition to self-
sufficiency.

SINAI Schools is dedicated to providing a Jewish education to children with learning and developmental disabilities. The children who attend SINAI Schools have special needs that cannot be met in a regular education setting, and certainly not in any of the area Jewish day schools. We provide a completely individualized program for each child, taking into account his or her academic, social, and emotional needs---all set within one of our regular education partner schools, creating an inclusive school community. Unfortunately, our costs to provide these highly individualized services for our students are extremely expensive. Funds are needed to provide financial aid to our students, who will not have access to a Jewish education without us.

TVAC provides emergency ambulance service for the Township of Teaneck, NJ and its residents. All of our members are volunteers, serving the township 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without pay. We respond to over 4,000 emergency calls a year, routinely saving lives and reducing suffering with our rapid response and application of Basic Life Support skills. We are also highly trained certified Emergency Medical Technicians who regularly continue our education by taking courses to stay current on improvements in CPR techniques and first-aid equipment. TVAC would cease to exist to provide that care if it were not for the generous financial contributions of our residents and former patients. Funds are needed for medical supplies, oxygen, uniforms, radios, insurance and ambulance maintenance.
